Mondayclub

The Monday club was formed as a reaction to a very funny phenomenon. But before we talk about it, we must mention that there was first an aquaponic laboratory in the greenhouse. The artist group TWAPS, which consists of visual artists Christel Fetzer and Anne-Britt Rage as well as agricultural engineer Radwan Zanhar, created a laboratory and tested various fish in an aquaponic facility. Then they made a workshop during the autumn holidays in 2021, where children, young people and TWAPS built an aquapon in an old wooden chest of drawers. Everyone was involved in creating this circular system: from painting, drawing with stencils, to sawing, building and arranging wires and pumping equipment. Finally, everyone was involved in connecting the aquaponi chest of drawers in the Lier library's greenhouse.

So we discovered this fun phenomenon. The water just disappeared. During the week, at least half of the water that was in the aquaponics system simply dissappeared. We searched for a long time for the thieves, and AUREKA - can you guess who the thief was? The books. All the books at Lier library were so dry and thirsty that they just drank all the water. Our aquaponics thus became a kind of moisture dispenser for the library. BUT: since there was a lot of work to both feed the fish and fill in water, we decided to set up the Monday club as a kind of maintenance group. We started with a group where most had participated in the workshop, but very quickly several others joined.

We decided that we at the Monday club should have fun, learn about maintenance and about the UN's sustainability goals and also the Monday club should do as they wanted. Thus, there was a bit of beading - to make the box markers for the fish food bag so that you could find out if the fish had ingested the right weekday ration. Besides, there was always someone who danced and made video during the break, and then it happened that we made the song "Sirkelvekst" and song it professionally in at Åse's studio, Ava Freddy in Oslo. You have to listen to the song and tell us what you think !!! When you have a song you like, it quickly happens that the dance leg will not be quiet, so there was a dance to the song and of course the video is now almost finished. The Monday club is looking forward to showing it during autumn !!! Ah, before we forget it: it was Emma, ​​Mari, Sigrun and Naledi who made the song, dance and video, and they call themselves Aquagirls.

What we do in the mondayclub?

In the mondayclub we learn about aquaponics and do many funny thing. Sometimes we pearl and make jewelry. We have also make a song about aquaponics and a dance!

Now, the Monday clubb starts with its digital fase. The fish and plants are on summer vacation and documentary photos, other plants, a seed sharing project has moved into the chest of wooden drawers.
